A bit of a progress shot. From our Cuba trip last September, to this morning (June 1st). A loss of 20lbs and a gain of some muscle, still have a bit to go, though!
My scale indicated that I’m down to 161lbs now. That’s just 11lbs from my goal! I’ll have to post a pic soon, I’m actually shocked when I look at myself in the mirror in the morning.
BAM!

Remember that post I made yesterday with all the fun things I have planned for this weekend? Well I’m 99% positive I am now the proud owner of some tough ass strep throat.
Do I cancel all my plans? Do I tough it out? Do I expose my friends and loved ones to this glorious disease?

I haven’t celebrated my birthday in a very long time. The reason being I hate attention and having entire events revolve around me (one of the reasons I will probably never get married lol). Anywho, I have a few exciting things planned and I’m looking super forward to it :)
Friday: The 1st Annual Laura Wallis Sundae Friday
- I’ve invited my 3 closest girl friends, and told them all that they need to bring 2 different sundae toppings each and their own ‘sundae bowl’. I’ve purchased some chocolate ice cream and vanilla ice cream and a few toppings myself, along with a nice big bottle of Three Olives Cake Flavoured Vodka (milkshakes anyone?)
Saturday: Motorcycle Adventure, Night in Muskoka
- I’ve been itching for some sort of adventure, so my boyfriend and I decided we’d go Northward to the lovely area of Muskoka and spend the night there (which we do often since he’s from there and his parents still live in Huntsville) BUT this time we’re taking the motorcycle. That’s over 3 hours of motorcycle time, with some stops along the way.
Sunday: Motorcycle Adventure (returning home), BBQ?
- We’ll be coming home from Muskoka on Sunday morning, then hopefully having a bbq for dinner, since that’s my favourite thing in the world.
Monday: Canada’s Wonderland!
- A week ago I came home to 2 tickets to Wonderland stuck to the fridge :) I took the day off from work and we’ll be spending it riding some of my favourite rides, also trying out the brand new Leviathon! Eeeek
Tuesday: Back to Reality :(
Soooo excited!

So I decided I’d treat myself to a new bottle of nail polish instead. I walked to a nearby surplus store (a store where other stores and companies send their products that they don’t want to sell anymore, have incorrect packaging, etc) and found a kick-ass bright orange colour THAT SMELLS LIKE ORANGES when it dries. I was so excited.
I painted my nails last night, and not only has a bunch of it chipped off already (only 2 coats) IT DOES NOT SMELL LIKE ORANGES. All the disappoint. I guess that’s what you get when you pay $0.99 for nail polish LOL. I might just go to Winners or Sallys tomorrow and get some new stuff. I want bright colours, like neon bright!
And now I have a nice red sunburn :( which will fade into pink, not a nice shade of tan. Waah.
I used to tan a lot in tanning beds, and would get pretty dark from that. Let’s see if I can find a pic.

That’s legit the darkest my skin has ever been, and that was after tanning 5 times a week, 15 minutes each time, for 4 months straight. EW, never again! Sooo bad for me!!

It’s almost Friday which means it’s almost Victoria Day Weeekeneeeeeed. Bring on the camping!
My boyfriend works different shifts depending on the week, he works days (6:15am - 2:15pm), Afternoons (2:15pm - 10:15pm), and Nights (10:15pm - 6:15am) and they go in 2 week cycles. Right now he’s on nights so that means I get to spend the evening with him, and the morning when I’m getting ready for work, I just have to sleep alone, which isn’t too bad every once in awhile. Anywho, this morning we were making breakfast and I told him I’m feeling sick and might be getting a cold so he said he might not let me sleep in the tent on Saturday and will drop me off at the cottage instead cause I’d probably get more sick in the tent.
I also told him it’s shark week and he said “well the bears will smell your menstruation so you better cut it out by Saturday” Cut it out….

I saw these things near the register. They were like Ritz peanut butter sandwiches, the mini ones, but with pretzels instead of crackers, AND they were dipped in chocolate! I have never seen these before and I can’t think of the brand or anything, but I’ve been thinking of them every second since we left the store. UGH they looked so friggen good! And it was just a small bag, so it wouldn’t be thaaaaat bad if I got some :S
I think they were even in my dream, too.

Insanity Results. Not as great as I’d hoped, visually, but my fitness level is insanely better!

I’ve noticed that my butt’s perkier, and that I have more endurance and can jump higher, run faster etc. I also wish I wasn’t so pale, so my muscle tone would show up more :(
I bought a full-length mirror! I haven’t had one for almost 2 years now, since I broke my last one during a move :(
Anyway, I’m so excited! I feel like I haven’t seen my legs in months! I’ll be able to take better progress pics now, weeee!

I’m very lucky to live so close to some gorgeous trails for bike rides, runs, and walks :) I took this during a water break on my Saturday morning ride, around 6am.
Whyyyy? Whyyy must you tempt me with new delicious Blizzard flavours? Damn you, Dairy Queen!
I brush off that motherfucker and I eat it. I love my perfectly portioned almond snack.

Cause my results are mirroring my efforts, which are currently sub-par. A re-surge of motivation has come upon me and I’m ready to go!

And I used to love running, I’d run 5 or 6 times a week, either on the treadmill or around my neighbourhood. Then, at the beginning of last summer, I was introduced to more weight training and started P90X and did less cardio, only running once a week or once every couple of weeks. Now that I’m done Insanity (finished last week) I’ve decided to take up daily running again. I’ve gone for a run everyday for the past 5 days, along a trail that’s only a couple blocks from where I live now, and I honestly feel like someone hit me with a truck, backed up, and hit me again. Soooo soooore. Ugh. Buuuut, I love it.
